Taking place on the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day, the St. Patrick's Day Parade features bag pipes, community programs, live entertainment and, of course, a green Chicago River!
The dyeing of the river starts at 9AM and the parade starts at noon. We recommend arriving at 8:30 to avoid the crowds. Try and avoid heavy crowds on Columbus Street, take Lake Shore Drive or State St. instead. If you're coming from the west, you'll want to park before Michigan Ave. Overall the best place to find parking near the parade is on Wabash, between Congress and Lake.
