FAQs
Why is there so little free parking in SoHo?
Manhattan is famous for not being amenable to cars, and this is especially true south of Houston Street. SoHo does not have any two-way streets except for West Broadway. While two-way streets in Manhattan tend to disallow parking to give buses the right-of-way, the narrow one-way streets of SoHo make parking an even more difficult endeavor since there are almost no two-way streets to easily return to if a side street is full. Spring Street between West Broadway and Sullivan Streets is also completely closed off to cars to prioritize pedestrians.
Where are you likely to find free parking in SoHo?
Wooster, Greene, and Sullivan streets are your best chance to find free parking spaces, particularly if you are far enough from the traffic of Canal Street.
