Taxes and Fees

SpotHero, Inc. and its subsidiaries (“SpotHero”) allow you to conveniently search for, compare and reserve parking spaces that third party providers (sometimes called “parking operators” or “parking management companies”) own, operate and manage.

SpotHero markets parking spaces to you on our site under the following model: You pay upfront and we coordinate your payment to the third party parking provider.  We are not the provider of the parking spaces; we are not the owners or operators of any parking spaces, parking lots, or garages or other parking facilities; we do not purchase, license, lease or resell any parking spaces; we do not establish the prices for the parking spaces; and, except in certain jurisdictions as determined by SpotHero in its sole discretion, we do not collect taxes or remit taxes to taxing authorities on behalf of parking operators or otherwise.

The total price charged to you on our site includes all anticipated applicable taxes owed, including applicable taxes for parking your vehicle in or upon a parking operator’s parking facility, which we expect the third party parking provider to remit to the applicable taxing jurisdictions (except in certain jurisdictions that SpotHero has, in its sole discretion, decided to do so on behalf of operators). The total price charged to you on our site also includes our separately stated fees (which may appear as a “service fee” at checkout), which we charge and retain in exchange for the services that we provide, including, but not limited to, the facilitation of your transaction with the parking operator, the marketing services we provide, the customer service and convenience that we provide to you, and the ongoing operation and maintenance of our technology platform.  

Unless otherwise indicated on our site, please note that the total price charged to you may also include additional fees set by the third party parking provider, such as oversized vehicle fees.  If a third party parking provider does not incorporate these fees into the total price displayed at checkout on SpotHero, you may incur other charges on-site that we do not collect and that are not included in the quoted price. These amounts, if any, are unrelated to any payment received by SpotHero for your parking space reservation and will be collected from you directly by the parking operator or parking management companies at the time of parking unless otherwise indicated on our site.
