Parking Near Boston Common
Dating back to1634, the 50-acre Boston Common holds the title of "the oldest city park in the United States." Boston Common sits just about in the center of the city and draws visitors year-round. Boston's famous Freedom Trail begins at the park's visitor center, and many walking tours meet up there as well. Numerous monuments, two separate ponds, and a short suspension bridge offer endless photo ops. The park also has plenty of family activities including a classic carousel, swan boat rentals, and a traditional playground. A baseball field along with several tennis courts make the park popular with area residents, too.
FAQs
Is it possible to find on-street parking near the park?
During the day, metered parking can be found along the park's northern border on Beacon Street, and to a lesser extent, along its southern border on Boylston Street. The park's eastern and western borders of Arlington and Tremont streets have almost no on-street parking to speak of. The city has also recently added bike lanes along the edge of the park that have taken away many spots.
Are there any SpotHero affiliated parking facilities inside the park?
Yes. SpotHero works with the Boston Common Garage located on Charles Street, which runs one way, south to north, from Boylston to Beacon Street.
