Our Summer 2026 Internship Program dates are May 26, 2026 - August 14, 2026.
IT Intern at SpotHero:
We are seeking motivated and talented individuals for our Summer Engineering Internship Program. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our IT team on real projects that contribute to our company's goals. You will gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and insights into the IT processes within a growth stage company.
Learn about the IT Department:
The IT department at SpotHero is responsible for the internal technology that keeps the company running day to day. That includes managing the corporate device fleet across macOS and Windows, administering core SaaS platforms like Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Zoom, and Atlassian, and maintaining the office network and AV infrastructure in Chicago. The team handles employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring every new hire has the accounts, equipment, and access they need from day one, and that everything is cleanly deprovisioned when someone leaves. IT also owns endpoint security enforcement through Jamf and Intune, partners closely with the Security team on identity and access management, and manages vendor relationships and the IT budget. Across all of it, the goal is to minimize friction for employees, keep systems secure and well-documented, and build scalable processes that grow with the company.
What you’ll do:
- Provide frontline IT support to employees, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues while learning to communicate technical solutions to non-technical users.
- Assist with new hire onboarding and offboarding, including laptop provisioning, account setup in Google Workspace and Okta, and equipment inventory tracking.
- Assist in the troubleshooting and debugging of technical issues.
- Engage in learning opportunities and professional development activities.
What we are looking for:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Familiarity with macOS and Windows — comfortable being the person friends and family call when something breaks.
- Curiosity about how corporate technology works at scale, from identity management to endpoint security to SaaS administration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
