What is the Sr. Director/VP, Venue Partnerships at SpotHero?:
The Sr. Director/VP, Venue Partnerships will be responsible for leading the Event Partnerships team and is pivotal to our growth strategy, focusing on expanding our footprint and revenue with sports / entertainment venues and individual events.
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a proven track record in complex sales, business development, and managing high-performing teams. You will be responsible for defining and executing our partnership strategy, building and managing a robust sales pipeline, and navigating a competitive landscape to secure high-impact deals with venues, stadiums, arenas, and other major event operators. As a Sr. Director/VP, you will take ownership of the partner program, developing the strategic vision and defining expected impact.
What you will do in partnership with key stakeholders:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive partnership Go-To-Market strategy and event venue playbook, including, but not limited to, pitch materials, favorable and proactive branding, and thought leadership, to be shared across teams to drive revenue growth and market share within the event venue space.
- Pipeline & Portfolio Management: Lead the team in building and managing a robust pipeline of partnership opportunities from ‘whales’ to aggregation of the longtail. This will encompass initial outreach to deal closure, while maintaining and retaining our current portfolio. The ultimate goal of a partnerships team is to help drive revenue by creating new pipelines and opportunities, and growing and retaining our current partners.
- Complex Deal Negotiation: Take the lead on negotiating and closing large, complex partnership agreements that align with SpotHero's strategic and financial goals. This includes negotiating for distribution, parking inventory, product integration and more.
Process Scaling: Establish a systematic and scalable approach to closing longtail opportunities and managing / renewing them at regular frequency.
- Competitive Analysis: Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, market trends, and industry developments to inform our strategy and identify new opportunities.
- Cultivate and Empower a High-Performing Team: Develop a world-class Partnerships team. Provide inspirational leadership and strategic guidance to a growing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with revenue/supply, finance, marketing, product and operations teams to ensure our partnership solutions meet market needs and are executed flawlessly.
- Financial Modeling & Analysis: Utilize sophisticated modeling and data analysis to forecast revenue, evaluate the financial impact of potential partnerships, and report on key performance metrics. Effective, targeted, responsible decision-making for partnerships investment budget, ensuring optimal ROI.
- Organizational Contribution: Visible demonstration of company values and leadership behaviors, contributing to overall company revenue goals and improving client retention.

What you bring:
- At least 10 years of experience in partnerships, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role. You should have extensive experience in a sales or partnerships function before taking on this senior-level position.
- Proven experience in closing enterprise, complex sales (ideally partnerships/strategic alliance) deals in a competitive and fast moving environment. Experience within the sports, entertainment, or event venue industries is highly preferred.
- Marketplace tech experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and accelerate a sales pipeline and consistently exceed revenue targets.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a track record of using data to drive business decisions.
- Strong experience with financial modeling and analysis, including forecasting, ROI calculations, and P&L management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with C-level executives.
- A "hunter" mentality with the ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Compensation:
$140k-$180k base with the potential to earn considerable variable compensation and a leading total rewards package including stock options
